It’s Christmas Eve and I’m at home in a room that doesn’t feel like my own anymore but I’ve done the same last minute wrapping of my parents’ presents and I’ve made a mess of this place in less than 12 hours from rummaging through my Buzz Lightyear backpack for something to wear and this big empty space feels extra lonely right now but really all I can feel are the jitters.

sit in a hotel room in the dark, watching a TV show about an unsolved murder, halfway to Disney World with my whole family, and Google myself to put off taking a shower.

me: At least there's less morons in this program. College was mostly morons.  
allie: I mean I didn't do a lot of the work,  but I was smart. The worst was my contemporary history classes.  They'd be filled with COM girls who were taking it as an elective.
